Does your bedroom have a natural energy flow?

The bedroom is the most important room, according to Feng Shui. It makes perfect sense: it’s a place of rest, a room that allows you to gain strength and energy, relax, and rejuvenate. From colors to the position of your bed, everything should matter. Here are some practical guidelines for making a Feng Shui friendly bedroom and getting the best night’s sleep.

If your headboard and bed frame is made of wood, you’re already on the right path since wood is our connection to nature. In terms of ancient Chinese philosophy, this means nature is supporting your sleep.

Feng Shui believes in the power of number two. Two nightstands, two lamps, everything should be in pairs. This symbolizes balance and equality. Another critical thing to consider is to avoid storing items underneath your bed. It blocks the flow of energy.

To get more restfulness energy, avoid mirrors in the bedroom. It would be best if you didn’t have a lot of stuff in your bedroom unless it’s necessary. You can have a few throw pillows and a blanket, but it should all be very moderate, clean, and neat. A messy bedroom is one of the worst things you can do to your home. Avoid the clutter and keep items you love. Accents in red will improve your sexual life, but if you overdo it, it will bring out the negative, aggressive energy. Ivory, peach, coral, and chocolate, as well as green and blue, are great colors for bedrooms.

Remember to unplug. No TV, laptops, cell phones allowed. This is just common sense, supported by Feng Shui. Apart from all the energy blocking, it interrupts your sleep. Not even books should be kept in the bedroom.

Now, the big question is where to put your bed. You don’t want any doors to open up directly in line with the bed, and you most certainly don’t want your feet to be pointed at the door. The headboard should be placed against a solid wall, with space available on the other three sides of the bed (left, right, and foot).

Finally, avoid chemicals as much as possible. The bedroom should be clean and tidy, but instead of store-bought chemical products, use green and non-toxic ones. Essential oils and candles, combined with a lot of fresh air, are a perfect combination for better sleep.

There’s a lot more to add since Feng Shui is a complex, never-ending philosophy. The Western civilizations are using only the basics since it gives us intriguing yet useful guidelines for a healthier life. Once your bedroom is Feng Shui-ed, we’ll move to other rooms to fully embrace this ancient lifestyle.
